Mesa Police Department Citizen Alert 8/17/2009

SECURE YOUR VEHICLE

Vehicles can be stolen from any place, at any time. A few simple precautions can deter would-be thieves.

Lock your doors and roll up the windows at all times when away from the vehicle.

Use a steering wheel lock.

Park in well-lit areas, if possible.

Never leave your vehicle running, even for a moment.

Don't leave the title and registration in your vehicle. Keep the title at home and carry the registration in your wallet or purse.

Remove all valuables (DVD player, MP3 player, camera, laptop, GPS, purse, wallet, guns) from the vehicle. If you can see ANY property in plain view, so can a thief.

Report any suspicious activity in or around vehicles to the Mesa Police at 480-644-2211.

Register for the Watch Your Car program at www.azwatchyourcar.com. It's free!

If your vehicle is stolen, call the Mesa Police immediately at 480-644-2211.
